FAXE waterbased decking oil (pigmented) Waterbased Bamboo decking Oil is for the surface treatment and renovation of cleaned bamboo terraces and protects the bamboo from premature ageing. The pigments support the natural colour of the bamboo and prevent premature fading, while the structure and pattern of the bamboo is preserved. Preparation: First leave the newly laid bamboo terrace untreated for a period of about 30 days. As bamboo is very dense, weathering over this period ensures the best possible absorption of the oil into the bamboo and significantly increases the resistance of the bamboo. Before applying the oil, clean the bamboo terrace with FAXE decking cleaner and allow to dry. Cleaning should always be done before oiling if the oil is to be applied soon after installation. The bamboo must dry completely before oiling. Application : - Work in dry weather and not in strong sunlight or heat. - Stir the contents of the container carefully before and during application. Mix several containers of the same product. - Apply the oil with a brush or paintbrush evenly in the longitudinal direction of the decking boards and spread carefully. Avoid the formation of puddles and, if necessary, remove excess oil from the surface and especially in joints and grooves with a cloth or brush. - The colour of the oil is initially different in the can and when applied and the treated floorboards only take on an oiled appearance after the water has evaporated. - The surface is hard and loadable after 24-48 hours, depending on the weather. During this time the bamboo decking boards must not come into contact with water. Aftercare: Bamboo decking needs a refreshing of the surface protection from time to time. To do this, clean the decking with FAXE Decking Cleaner before oiling and once completely dry, retreat with FAXE Bamboo Decking Oil as described above.
